Quand Thunderbird me propose de changer bédéphile en pédophile, je me dis que je fais bien de faire certaines choses manuellement…
I recently traveled to Africa, with a new camera.
I didn’t set the date properly, resulting in a series of photos with wrong date and times.
Willing to fix that, I searched for softwares to change the EXIF data in the photos. People were mentioning jhead and exiftools as really powerful tools, but I was feeling more confident with softwares providing a GUI.
What happened then is I searched for tools, tried to install some, tried to make some work through WINE, etc. This took me hours and the softwares usually crashed miserably.
In the end, I used jhead: After spending 5 minutes reading the manual, I was able to shift the date properly with the shell, then renamed the photos using the UNIX command rename
(using the -n
option first). Then batch importing again all my photos through Rapid Downloader got all my files tidy.
Done.
Since I’ve been looking for this and most of the results I had were actual screenshots, more than a way to take them, here is a how to do so:
