I’m a bit shy. Maybe that’s gonna make some people smile, but the fact is I am somehow. Taking a camera and shooting at people is of course exposing them to my film, but it’s also exposing myself to others more than what I would like.
I was walking in Shanghai today; the sky was blue, the sun was shining, birds were gathering twigs and leaves (and cigarettes); I was wondering "what if I don’t aim with my eyes while taking photos?"
Then I just let the camera do the talking. Hanging in my hand, set to speed priority, I was turning it to different points that looked interesting, at waist height. That’s just a big parallax, in the end.
Here are 5 of the photos I took. They’re worth what they’re worth; I may try harder to see just how interesting things can become. Don’t stop walking, just move your arm and shoot. Keep that in mind: you’re your surroundings’ thief and you don’t want to get caught; don’t look at your camera.
Let’s see if Stéphane, izo, Pierre, Magic and Twiggy feel like shooting and showing us 5 photos taken like this...
