This competition aimed the creation of a rest area on the newly created highway between Paris and Clermont-Ferrand. It’s a collaboration with a Slovakian friend which was studying in the former École nationale supérieure d’architecture de Lyon.
agression & protection
Our position concerning the highway is simple: to filter sound annoyances the best as we can for the rest areas, acoustically and visually (a very thin pole is often possible, but the shelter effect is not accurate).
unity & diversity
Once this annoyance reduced, we decline the usual classical motel in some individual habitats, set in the park. The different heights are a shanty analogy; a forrest and an arboricultural park can be find stand nearby. Those shanty also give people the possibility to identify those spaces as personal: eased identification due to the diversity.
