Merry Christmas!

(fr)

For Christmas this year, I hoped for something a tad less material than usual. Something that represents a relationship with someone more than a useful or valuable object. I then forwarded my letter to Santa to my family, just so they would know. ;)

Christmas is gone, I am now sharing this with people who would end up visiting this blog. I would be really touched to receive such thoughts, if you feel like sharing your music, of course.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Hello everyone!

I was thinking about Christmas and travelling, and if I don’t want to leave gifts in France, I’d rather plan for it in advance.

My “old sack” side also likes to think that lists are for Christmas! :)

So here are my wishes, dear Santa: I’d really really like to receive a mixtape from each one of you. Let me explain…

What is a mixtape for me? It’s a compilation of 9 music tracks that I really like for a person I really like. When I craft one, I try as much as possible to look for lyrics and give a mood to each one of them, and eventually surprise. It can be a time‑consuming enterprise, me being a tad pernickety, but I am not asking for so much here. Everything that would make me happy would be a list of 9 tracks that you love and you think I would like, which will make think of you. You can also give it a title. :)

This list can be done in many ways depending on the time, the knowledge and the technical skills: audio files to download somewhere (wetranfer et alii, smartphone, USB stick, CD, email(s), Telegram, etc.), a list written in a text file or a simple letter (via mail if you like) for the technodigitophobics (I’d gather the files and compile them later on).

Well, whatever you can. And if you don’t have the time or the inclination, well, too bad. It shouldn’t become a chore, otherwise the gesture loses all its meaning.

To help you with themes, here is a list that could be of interest to some, not limited to and, of course, without borders between them:

  • events that link us musically
  • groups or periods in time (30s, 70s, house…)
  • gothic music (if it exists…)
  • rock music (all styles)
  • music to move your body
  • classical music
  • traditional music (that’s a risky one)
  • traveling, loving, recollecting, meditating, well… any sort of action
  • memories and melancholy
  • ¡latino!
  • foreign music that is neither English or French
  • French chansons
  • Funny songs
  • podcasts, radio shows with topics about history, geography, society, etc.

Thanks in advance, plenty of hugs! :)
